“Just back from a 5 night visit to this Surfcamp. The room was comfortable and air conditioned and was about what I would expect for this location. The staff was amazing... better than expected. Food and service was excellent! We plan to return next year to the same camp for our next Panama surf adventure. You cannot beat the location and the staff... highly recommended!!!.”

“I recently stayed at Surfcamp Guanico with a group on a Yoga and Surf Retreat. I can’t say enough about the amazing staff who worked so hard to make our stay comfortable. We had an incredible breakfast spread each day and enjoyed lunches and dinners there as well. We loved hanging in the hammock chairs and lounging on the big comfy sofas when we weren’t out surfing. Great spot to surf if you are looking for that as well. We got to watch a sea turtle lay eggs in a nest right in front of the hotel! We loved it here and are returning next year to do it again! Thank you to the wonderful owners and staff who treated us so well!”

“I spent more than a week there in January 2022, once you get into the mood you don’t want to go home. It‘s a quiet place where you can relax and take a break. Great weather, huge beaches with nobody around, water with a perfect temperature and great waves to surf. Depending on the period you can find easy waves for beginners or more difficult ones. The surf camp offers everything you may need, is very clean and is run by easy going people. I really recommend to spend some time there! Difficult to see better sunsets or sunrises…”

“We had an awesome time in Guanico. We went in off-season so there were not many other guests which was very relaxed. The team was great, rooms are clean and nice. The waves can get very good and when we have been there we mostly surfed alone or with 2-4 locals. A lot of turtles are laying eggs on the beaches in the area, so watch out for baby turtles :P”

“Surfcamp Guanico is a fantastic place to be. Where else do you have a great surf spot just in front? Great uncrowded waves woww... You really have to find this. After surfing, relax at the beach or lounge of the surfcamp. It just takes you one day and you won't think about work and anything else anymore. At low tide you can walk on the beach for miles...”

“Surfcamp Guanico is an unexpected gem. Far from the bustle of Panama City and the outlying popular hotel spots, Guanico offers everything you could possibly desire in a tropical retreat.

Situated on a nearly uninhabited beach, you can walk, surf or swim for miles. The views and soft volcanic sand are hard to beat. The rooms are spacious, super clean and comfortable and the lounge areas, and bar are large, breezy and awesome for a game of ping pong, pool or cards. The kitchen is well equipped and the restaurant makes some killer pizzas, salads and fresh omelettes.”

“Surfcamp Guanico advertises itself as a ‘hotel for surfers,’ which it is. But I am not a surfer, yet I enjoyed it immensely. So it's not just for surfers.

I think it is a great place for anyone who wants a long, uncrowded beach, warm water, beautiful scenery, tranquility and a chance to meet people from many parts of the world. That summarizes my experience during my stay.”
